Privacy Policy for Receipt Organizer App
Effective date: 23rd August 20251. OverviewReceipt Organizer app (“we,” “us,” or “our”) helps you capture, organize, and view receipts on your device. We designed the app to minimize data collection. By default, your data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers.2. Information We Collect- Receipts & Categories: Receipt details you enter or capture (merchant, amount, date, notes, category, photos). Stored locally on your device.
- Preferences: Theme, currency, filters, and other app settings. Stored locally.
- Notifications: Reminder schedules you set and, if enabled, a device push token to deliver reminders.
- Camera Access: Used solely to scan or attach receipt images when you choose to. Images remain on-device unless you export/share them.
- Usage Data: We do not collect analytics by default. If we enable optional analytics in the future, we will update this policy and request consent where required.3. How We Use Your Information- Provide core features: manage receipts, categories, totals, and reminders.
- Improve user experience: remember your settings (theme, currency).
- Notifications: send receipt reminders you schedule. We do not send marketing notifications.4. Data Processing & Storage- Local‑first: Data is stored on your device’s local storage. We do not operate a backend for this app at this time.
- Optional cloud/third‑party features: If you choose to export, back up, or sync using a third party (e.g., your OS backup, cloud drive, or when sharing a receipt), your data will be processed by that service under its privacy policy.5. Push Notifications- If you enable notifications, the app may generate a device push token to deliver reminders via Apple/Google notification services. We do not use tokens for advertising or sell/share them.6. Image & Camera Data- Camera/photos are accessed only when you choose to scan or attach images. Images stay on your device unless you export/share them.
- If we introduce optional cloud OCR or AI features, we will clearly disclose this and request consent before any upload occurs.7. Third Parties- OS providers (Apple/Google) for notifications and device services.
- Expo (framework used to build the app) may provide runtime tooling; we do not send your receipt data to Expo.
- Any service you choose for export/share/backup is governed by that provider’s policy.8. Cookies & Web Preview- If you use our web preview, standard web logs or browser storage may be used to operate the site. We do not use cookies for advertising.9. Legal Bases (EEA/UK users)We rely on: performance of a contract (providing the app), legitimate interests (app security and functionality), and consent (notifications, camera access). You can withdraw consent in your device settings at any time.10. Your Choices & Rights- Access, edit, delete: You can view and edit your data in the app. To delete, use in‑app delete options or uninstall the app (which removes locally stored data). If you enabled any third‑party backups/exports, delete data there as well.
- Permissions: You can disable camera/photos/notifications in your device settings.
- Data portability: You may export receipts (where available) and store them elsewhere.11. Data RetentionData is kept on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Push tokens are retained only as needed to deliver reminders and are invalidated when you disable notifications or uninstall.12. SecurityWe use the security features provided by your device and operating system. No method is 100% secure; keep your device updated and protected with a passcode/biometrics.13. Children’s PrivacyThe app is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.14. International UseIf you use the app outside your home country, your data remains on your device. If you export/share to third parties, those services may process data in other countries.15. Changes to This PolicyWe may update this policy as the app evolves (e.g., if we add cloud sync or analytics).
